British Airways  Boeing 777-200’s flight 114 left  New York JFK at 10:50pm Eastern Standard time (EST) and  landed at London Heathrow at 9:06am GMT  45minutes early after hitting 200mph North Atlantic Jet stream.

According to Flight Aware, which tracks plane movements, the BA Boeing  flew at 745mph relative to ground speed almost reaching the  supersonic speed of sound at sea level which is 761mph.

The unexpected help from the jet stream will make flight times from New York to London shorter in January and February winter months.
