Eid Mubarak. This year the new crescent Moon is sighted, Eid is confirmed as May 2nd, and around 3.3 million Muslims in the UK are celebrating Eid al- Fitr with the Salat al-Eid being recited in the congregation for the first time without Covid-19 restriction since the pandemic began. Muslims worldwide celebrate the end of the holy month of Ramadan, the month of fasting between dawn and sunset. Thirty thousand Muslims gathered in Small Heath Park, Birmingham from 6 am to mark the end of Ramadan.

Eid is about sharing food and bringing communities together and giving gifts of Halal sweets or cakes and dressing to impress.
