West Indies won by seven wickets

West Indies, two times world champion displayed aggressive bowling to crush Pakistan by seven wickets and begin their World Cup Campaign with an emphatic win at Trent Bridge.

Oshane Thomas took 4-27 and Jason Holder 3-42 and Andrea Russell 2-4 in three overs as only two Pakistani batsmen managed to score over 20.

Then Chris Gayle Smashed a breezy 50 from 34 balls with three sixes to give Windies the magic start. The match was finished with a huge six by Bicholas Pooran.

West Indies are ranked 8th in the world in 50-over cricket and recently their big-hitting batsmen combined with effective quick bowling make them a world beater. Russell was in early to bowl quick and short deliveries and upset batsmen as he dismissed Fakhar Zaman with a brutal delivery that hit the batman’s grille and rebounded onto the stumps, and Haris Sohail caught behind when the batman top-edged another bouncer. Oshane Thomas has Babar Azam caught behind off another fast delivery. Then Thomas Clattered into Wahab Riaz’s sumps to concliude the rout.

West Indies play Australia next and Pakistan play England in Trent Bridge.
