The people of Ireland has been celebrating their heritage and culture on St Patrick’s Day annually recognised since 1700s., by holding vibrant green parades wearing shamrocks and fly9ing Irish flags more than usual, around the world including UK, United States, Australia, Dubai and Egypt.

Over 400 landmarks in more than 50 countries are turning the appropriate colour as part of tourism Ireland’s annual Global Greening initiative.

St Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland, who lived in the 5th century AD and is understood to have played a major part in converting the Irish to Christianity. His values come from the inspiration of a man who returned to the country where he had been a child slave, in order to being the message of Christ and traditionally associated with shamrock plant which he used to explain the Christian doctrine of the Holy Trinity. He is believed to buried in Downpatrick, County Down.

A 17-year-old girl and two boys aged 16 and 17 have died after reports of a crush at St Patrick’s Day party at Greenvale Hotel, in Cookstown, County Tyrone.

The girl has been named as Lauren Bullock and one of the boys has been named as Connor Currie. The police said a large group of young people had been waiting to get into a disco at about 21:30 GMT. One teenager died at the scene and several other teenagers also have been treated in hospital.
