The COVID-19 lockdown inspires some individuals to think outside the box. Anastasia who was working in hospitality for three years, wanted to engage lockdown local Hampstead Heath community by opening a coffee shop in a red old British Telecom phone booth at the end of Pond Street. There is a need for a coffee shop servicing the NHS workers at the Royal Free Hospital and the London Transport bus drivers.

Entrepreneurs are not always a born genius. However, Anastasia’s Innovation is an inspiration and a flash of genius and an unexpected opportunity.

Anastasia rented the phone booth for several hundred pounds a month and decided to sell fresh coffee. She is of course competing with the like mega-giant Starbucks. Lockdown made her think hard and give something back to the community. She with her husband and Elenor decided to rent the phone booth.

A charitable trust called Thinking Outside The Box was granted planning permission to turn the phone boxes into Kiosks and they now been put up for rent.

Anesthesia is not the first one, Jake’s Coffee Box, which is run by Jake Hollier, 23,  who has been a health care assistant at City Hospital said the project has been six months in the making, is the first person to rent one of the Birmingham Phone boxes.
