Joe Biden is in the UK for the Global leaders’ summit in Cornwall which officially starts on Friday. US President Joe Biden and his wife Jill met the Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Carrie for the first  time and admired the view overlooking St Ives Bay, with Mr Biden saying “ It’s gorgeous I don’t want to go home.”

The US President took in the vista as he arrived in the Carbis Bay for resort for talks with Boris Johnson, where the two men sat next to each other, Mr Biden said “ I told the Prime Minister we have something in common. We both married way above our stations.”

While first Lady Jill Biden wore a white dress with black spots and a black jacket with the word “Love” written on the back, Carrie Johnson wore a stunning red dress.

The 65, 000 tonne,  £.1 billion Royal Navy aircraft carrier HMS Prince of Wales stood off the coast while the leaders held bilateral talks.

The PM’s RAF voyager plane, which is also an air-to-air refuelling tanker, circled above 27, 000 ft up at 480mph, ready to top up a Eurofighter which was also circling in case it needed to intercept any threats.

The Us President has announced plans to donate half a billion Pfizer vaccine doses to over 90 of the world’s poorest countries saying “We’ve had more people die in the United States than anywhere in the world. We know the tragedy, and we also known the recovery. This is about our responsibility, our humanitarian obligation to save as many lives as we can”.

He said the pandemic had been a “major focus” for the UK’s presidency of the G7 to focus and coordinate resources to help vaccinate th world. It’s also in America’s self-interest – as long as the virus rages elsewhere there is a risk of new mutations that could threaten our people”.

Boris Johnson and US President Joe Biden will be joined by Italy’s Mario Draghi and Japan’s Yoshihide Suga, Canada’s Justin Trudeau, France’s Emmanuel Macron, Germany’s Angela Merkel and EU President Ursula von der Leyen.

Guest invitations have also been extended to Australia’s Scott Morrison, India’s Narendra Modi, South Korea’s Moon Jae-in and South Africa’s Cyril Ramaphosa.

Boris Johnson has said the UK-US relationship is a “massive strategic importance” for the security of the world.
