A fast local passenger train of Western Railway  from Bhayander to Churchgate, in Mumbai, India, overshot the platform  three at Churchgate station

on Sunday 28th June 2015 at 11:20am 15:50 GMT, and crashed in to the buffers before coming to a stop.

The train was speeding 30kmph when it entered the platform when the driver L Tiwari started applying the brakes which failed and five metres of the train went up in the air and

damaged the platform.  However the springs in the buffer absorbed most of the force of the collision and prevented major catastrophe.  Five passengers suffered minor injuries, and

several train services were disrupted. The passengers inside the train got the shock of their lives, although no one was seriously injured.

An investigation is launched and cause of the accident could be human error.
