MADONNA IS SIXTY TODAY! – A MILESTONE BIRTHDAY! 16th August 2018
With initial songs starting with Holiday and closely followed by Like a Virgin, Madonna has been known to have said “Losing my virginity was a career move”. Brandishing as a sales weapon overt and unblushing sexuality and sassy outfits displaying a well-honed figure and with a face expertly made up by top makeup artists, Madonna stormed into our lives in the early 80’s and never looked back. She has embraced pure pop, house music, trance before going on to RnB in the noughties and continues to reinvent herself and her music to this day. Some say that what Debbie Harry of Blondie couldn’t do because the time wasn’t right, Madonna grabbed for herself crossing and challenging boundaries that later made space for girl bands who were sexy and aggressive and inspired girls to think more of themselves.
Some of Madonna’s forays into the film industry have proved better than others but no one can accuse her of dragging her feet, being narrow or retiring too soon.
Her blood children are Lourdes and Rocco. Her adopted children are David, Mercy, and twins Estere and Stelle.
