Munnar in Idukki, Kerala, India famous for its romantic cottages, tea gardens, waterfalls and green valleys won the Lonely Plant’s Best Destination for Romance at the Lonely Planet Magazine Indian Travel Awards 2017.

Munnar, meaning three rivers, Mudhiurapuzha, Nallahtanni and Kundalyu rivers, is a small town and hill station which varies from 1600 metres (5,200ft) to 2,695 meters (8,842ft) above sea level, in the Western Ghats range of mountains located in the Idukki district of the southwestern Indian state of Kerala. Munnar Town situated in the Kannan Devan Hills has well connected national highways and rural roads. The temperature in this region ranges between 5°C (41°F) to 25°C (77°F) in Winter and 15°C (59°F) to in25°C (77°F) Summer.

Munnar, which inspires travel enthusiasts to visit and experience unexplored destinations has attracted  more foreign and domestic tourist arrivals by 6.23 per cent and 5.67 per cent respectively compared to previous year.
