A  fifty-year-old Ryan air Polish national passenger, fed up with waiting to leave a plane in Spain, took the emergency exit and was waiting on the wing with his hand luggage down before perching on the wing’s edge. His flight  FR8164 from  Stanstead London to Malaga on New Year’s Day had been delayed one hour on departure and passengers were kept on board for 30 minutes at Malaga.  He was eventually arrested by airport security.

According to a fellow passenger Raj Mistry, the man had been suffering from an asthma attack and was struggling to breathe, although a Ryanair spokesman called the event an “airport security breach”.

Malaga airport police immediately arrested the passenger and since this was a breach of Spanish safety and security regulations, it is being dealt with by the Spanish authorities”.

In 2016,  another passenger in Madrid jumped from a disconnected bridge and sprinted across the tarmac towards a Ryanair plane in an attempt to catch a flight to Gran Canaria.
