 Virender Sehwag stood in as captain for George Bailey, having won the toss and decided to chase, pointing out the ease with which Royals had hunted down two targets in Ahmedabad. Having won five out of five, Royals made just one change, picking another legspinner Rahul Tewatia in place of left-arm spinner Ankit Sharma.

After Virender Shewag was run out for 1, Kings XI was reeling with 59-3 until consistent hitting from Shaun Marsh and David Miller earned them a super over after the match was tied and 15 came from it, 14 for Marsh and Mitchell did the rest to win the game.
