The 2016 World T-20 to be played in India

The 2016 World Twenty20 will be played in India from March 11 to April 3.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) approved the dates for its main events through to 2019, following its Board meeting here Thursday. Though the tournaments were awarded to countries in 2013, the dates were approved on 29th January 2015.

The World Cup final will be decided by a ‘super over’ if the scores are tied, the International Cricket Council has announced. A previous plan of declaring joint-winners has been scrapped, and the March 29 final will now be played under the same rules as the 2011 final.

The board also approved 2017 Champions Trophy in England which will be held between June 1-19. England will also host the 50-over World Cup in 2019 from May 30 to June 15.

While the 2017 Women’s World Cup will be held in England between Aug 4-27, the 2018 Women’s World Twenty20 will be held in the West Indies between Nov 2-25.
