Wales and Italy qualify for last 16 despite losing to Italy 1-0.in the Euro 2020.

Their qualification was under threat with Switzerland beating Turkey 3-1 in a Group A match.

Italy were dominant in their 11th consecutive win and 30th consecutive match without defeat  with Matteo Pessina’s goal giving them a 1-0 half-time lead which they held on. Italy face Group C’s second-placed team in Wembley next Saturday.

Wales was forced to play the final half hour a man down after Ethan Ampadu was sent off for a lunge on Federico Brenardeschi.

Robert Page will lead his team to a second-round match against Group B’s runners-up in Amsterdam next Saturday.
