120-year-old world’s oldest woman dies
120-years five months and 18 days old, Jesuina dos Santos Cardoso, who should have gone into the Guinness Book of records died on Wednesday 20th July 2016, after a heart ailment, should have beaten the previous record of 116 years by an American woman at New York.
Born on 30th January, 1896, she used to live in Union City District in the City of Rio Branco Ivai, 300km from Curitiba. She wanted to prove that she is the oldest woman in the world, but they cancelled her pension because the Institute of National Social Security (INSS) thought it was fraud and impossible for any person to be alive at that age. She has to travel with her 53-year-old grand daughter, hundreds of kilometers to prove that she was alive to continue to receive her pension. She even tried to send her proof of her birth certificate to Guinness books of records but ran out of time. She had 15 children, three of whom are still alive, and 36 grandchildren, 63 great grand children.
