L’Oréal explores selling the Body Shop
L’Oréal is considering selling The Body Shop for €1bn, as it has struggled in recent years. The ethical cosmetics chain, founded in Brighton in 1976, by Dame Anita Roddick, bought a decade ago for £652m, now has over 3000 stores in 66 countries. It prides itself in using ethically sourced ingredients to create natural beauty products.
L’Oréal also owns brand such as Lancŏme creams and lipsticks, Viktor & Rolf Fragrances, Yves Saint Laurent, Urban Decay and Armani.
L’Oréal has hired Lazard to review its options and that a sale could be the ultimate outcome.
