ISRO’s world record satellite launch
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) broke the world record when it launched 104 satellites onboard on single rocket from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.
The satellites were launched by ISRO’s Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle, earlier used in the ambitious Mars Orbiter Mission. This is first of its kind to launch the maximum number of satellites, the previous record being held by Russian Space Agency with 37 satellites.
