Magical Clarins eyebrows

Eyebrows arguably frame the entire face and have gone through many style changes over the years. From the pencil plucked thin brows of the 1920s/30s Clara Bow to the full on high arched eyebrow glamour of the 1950s think Sophia Loren then to the ‘Brooke Shields’ unplucked look of the early 80s…. before all three trends coming back in vogue every so often; the trends for eyebrow definition seem to go through phases of repetition in times of fashion.

I was never particularly vain when it came to eyebrow styling, in fact, I didn’t purchase a set of tweezers until my early 20s. Then when I did use them I did over so the plucking somewhat and was virtually close to losing whatever natural definition my eyebrows had.

After that mishap plucking disaster I allowed my naturally dark blonde brows to grow and luckily I always found them relatively low maintenance over the years.

As I hit my 30s I noticed more and more beauty products hitting the market aimed at defining and darkening your eyebrows than ever before and as someone who likes to binge buy the latest products I did try many different beauty store brands with mixed results. Some were either too drying and dark giving off a chalky looking brow. Others weren’t defining enough or waterproof.

It seemed to me finding the perfect brow definer was like searching for the holy grail.

When I came across Clarins Pro Palette Eyebrow kit I was totally taken by surprise. Not only is it packaged beautifully and I have used many Clarins products over the years I was initially wary of another pricey eyebrow palette. Thankfully I was completely bowled over.

This little eyebrow kit is a standout product. It contains three brow colours ranging from dark blonde to blackish brown, some wax to set your brows, a highlighting colour which is a beautiful, pinkish hue and three mini tools – little tweezers, a brow brush and a double-ended eyeshadow applicator/angled brush.

This is, when you think about it, great value for money. On a recent overnight trip, I bought just this and some mascara as my eye makeup – you can use the shadows on the eyes and in the brows, and the black shadow on a wet angled brush makes a perfect eyeliner. It’s lightweight and a very handy addition to any makeup bag.

It’s expensive compared to the ever-changing range of eyebrow products on the market these days but in an ever competitive market value for money is paramount and Clarins Pro palette eyebrow kit lasts and is a great investment.

Available at Harrods or your nearest Clarins stockist for £35.00
