Audi’s venture into electric cars was the large 3-Tron SUV and a leaping A7-sized four-door electric coupe to rival the Tesla Model S and Porsche Taycan. A prototype version appeared at the 2018 Los Angeles Motor Show. The prototype GT had a 96kWh battery and two electric motors, generating 582bhp for a 0-62mph time of 3.5 seconds with an expected UK pricing of £100, 000.

BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe stacks up against Tesla with a 523bhp electric drivetrain fed by an 80kWh battery pack giving around a 375-mile driving range with 0-62mph in around four seconds. BMW is also launching several large iNEXT SUV and could wear their ever-popular iX5 or iX7 badge which is targeting a driving range of over 370 miles for their cars. BMW iX3’s full electric version with a battery capacity of over 70KwH, power output in excess of 500bhp and a driving range of 250 miles with a UK price tag of over £60, 000.
