5 killed and 40 injured in Terror attack at Westminster
Five people were killed and 40 injured in London on 22nd March 2017, Wednesday afternoon, as a car Huyndai ploughed into pedestrians and the crashed into the barriers of Houses of Parliament. The attacker drove on the pavement on Westminster Bridge, as a woman fell into the River Thames.The driver wielding a knife fatally stabbed a police officer Keith Palmer (48) . Among the killed were PC Palmer, Aysah Frade, 43, who worked as a teacher in London, had family in Betanzos, Galicia northwest Spain. and a man in his mid 50s and the attacker who was shot by cops.
Prime Minister Theresa May, who was whisked to safety in the wake of the attack. She said condemning the attack “ sick and depraved” and vowed Britain will “ never give into terror”.
According to New Scotland Yard “ We believe the attacker acted alone, as inquiries continue in London and Birmingham.
Seven arrests are made following raids on a Birmingham flat.
