7 dead and 14 injured as fighter plane crashes onto busy A27
There were at least seven dead and 14 injured at the Shoreham Airshow West Sussex, after a vintage Hawker Hunter fighter jet taking part in the show crashed on to the busy A27. Roads packed with cars and onlookers watched the explosion after the crash with horror. The pilot Andy Hill who could not eject, was pulled from the wreckage and miraculously escaped death, but is fighting for his life, in the local hospital.
The Hawker Hunter crashed on to several cars as it hit the ground on the dual carriageway. A limousine on its way to pick up a bride was amongst the vehicles hit.
The rest of the Shoreham Airshow has been cancelled.
