Calcutta Street Restaurant in Brick Lane
Shrimoyee Chakraborty, 26, single girl from Jodhpur Park, North Calcutta, plans to create a tea bar at her London restaurant in Brick Lane and aspires to bring Calcutta flavours to London. She persuaded four investors to fund her Calcutta Street , Restaurant at 118 Brick Lane, London E1 6RL.
“I was scared at first and decided to give it a try and it was a success, You will never know what it really is, unless you really do it” Shrimoyee.
She was educated at the Sophia College in Mumbai after completing her plus-two at Ashok Hall Girls Higher Secondary School, and completed her masters in Global business Analysis at the Manchester Business School. She started a blog to project her experiments in the kitchen. “I want to offer real Calcutta food to Londoners” according to Shrimoyee, who did her first Bengali food pop-up at a bar in London’s Camden in March last year. “ I wanted to bring real Calcutta menu from Deemer jhol, Luchi Aloor Dom, Phuchka, Musurir Dal, Kalojeere Diye Maachher to egg rolls
