Tunnel to Harrods for new retirement home in Knightsbridge
Retirement homes come in all shapes and sizes and this one will have £20 million invested in it together with the use of a subterranean link formerly used to lead to storage areas which will now be a traffic and hazard free connection to people from the new home who wish to shop in Harrods.
There will be a gym, hydrotherapy pools, physiotherapy rooms and a sauna and The Pavillion Road scheme encompasses 34 apartments likely to cost at least £5M each.
Singapore based City Developments are behind the scheme and Kwek Leng Beng, its executive chairman said, “We have worked closely with the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea council to draw up a scheme that will appeal to discerning residents in retirement…we aim to provide a community style of living for this group”.
