Diane von Furstenberg, the Belgian-American fashion designer best known for her iconic wrap dresses that are perfect for the office or an evening out. The iconic designer launched her eponymous label in the early 70s, with dress styles in silk, lace, and chiffon. One of her elegant faux wrap dress with an asymmetrical cowl neck and small side split with chiffon peeks out from behind the hem with concealed pockets at hip.
Encouraged by Vogue editor Diana Vreeland Diane began to make her unique designed the now-iconic wrap dress in 1974 which was an instant sell-out and international success.
She rose to prominence when she married into the German princely House of Furstenberg as the wife of Prince Egon von Furstenberg. After her phenomenal success of the wrap dress, she was featured on the cover of Newsweek magazine in 1976 and declared “ the most remarkable woman since Coco Chanel”. In 1979 The New York Times reported her annual retail sales of her company were $150million. In 1985, she founded Salvy, a French-language publishing house and launched cosmetics and a home-shopping business, In 2012 she launched her first children’s collection with GapKids.
