THIS IS LOVE – FILM AT RAINDANCE 26TH FILM FESTIVAL 30TH SEPTEMBER 2018

A  fantastic array of Love family members came over from the USA  to this screening about the Love family and their musical exploits mainly in the USA but more recently at the 100 club last night where an audience including Elliott Grove who founded Raindance more than 26 years ago had the pleasure of enjoying their work which Elliott described as amongst the top 3 groups he had enjoyed listening to EVER – Muddy Waters was one of the others…

Rudy Love and  Director  John Alexander  were some of the people who took part in a documentary about the Love family ..Rudy apparently aged 70 – see photo – though no one would think this fabulous man could be so old..he and his troupe came over from the USA for Raindance and it was a great pleasure to meet them all during and after the film screening.

Rudy Love has performed with The Temptations and Marvin Gaye and claims that during his career and that of his fellow family members’ life in the music industry much piracy has taken place.  Mick Fleetwood – a fantastic looking older man has supported this claim and said it is “almost like a voodoo curse”.  At one point the huge family of the Love’s seventeen children’s mother received a letter sent to the Loves that money was in the envelope and on its way for pirated music..but it wasn’t a lot and they waited years to get their just rewards..and in some cases are still waiting.

Behold! How close this story is to so many hearts..many people in the music business create fabulous lyrics and amazing music and find it pirated and repeated without so much as a penny’s payment to the creators and composers.

Google the Loves, listen to their music, stay close to them.  Raindance’s 26th film festival embraces those who have been in or are still in the experience of challenging times.  Give them your support.

JUST DO IT and ENJOY. Their work is fabulous.
