Kodagu the most affluent hill station in South India
Kodagu also called Coorg is district in Karnataka State in South India, known for its hospitality and beautiful and colourful scenery, thick wooded slopes, quaint villages and endless mountain ranges. The nearest railway station is Mysore about 100kms away and one has to travel by bus which takes about 4-5 hours on a rough winding and cheap ride.
One of the main attraction is the Abbey falls, which is 8 km from Madikeri, and echo of the waterfalls can be heard from the main road with path of coffee and cardamom plantations filled with chirping birds.
Madikeri is the capital of Kodagu known as the “Scotland of India” which has world record in the production of cardamom crop.
