Italy will inject €3.6bn into its economy to alleviate the impact of coronavirus in Europe as a result of transport and supply chain disruptions resulting from measures taken to curb the outbreak.
Roberto Gualtieri, economy minister, said: “ We would introduce tax credit s for companies that reported a 25 per cent drop in revenues, and tax cuts and extra cash for the health care system, 0.2 per cent of the gross domestic product and this in addition to the €900m of measures announced on last Friday”.
Rome will also seek special authorisation from Brussels to increase the budget deficit for this year according to the treasury.
