Elusive fugitive Mehul Choksi arrested in Dominica

 

Mehul Chinubhai Choksi, Indian businessman from Mumbai, India, residing in Antigua who is wanted by the Indian Judicial authorities for criminal conspiracy, criminal breach of trust, cheating and dishonesty including delivery of property, corruption and money laundering. Choksi, 63,  in involved in  Rs 12m Punjab National Bank scam.

Mehul Choski was last seen driving in the southern area of the island in Antigua and Barbuda on Sunday before his disappearance. Police have recovered his vehicle later but were unbale to trace him. Dominican polices have taken him into custody.

Antiguan PMO has asked Dominican government to treat Choksi as persona non grata and deport him directly to India for entering the country illegally.

Mehul Choksi who was wanted by the Central Bureau of Investigation  (CBI) and Enforcement Directorate (ED) for a multi-million bank fraud. Mehul Choksi was reported aiming to flee to Cuba.
