Verstappen seals second F1 World Title

Max Verstappen of Red Bull won the Japanese Formula One Grand Prix after he secured his 12^th victory of the season and sealed a second world title.

Verstappen headed Sergio Perez in a Red Bull one-two after Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, who crossed the line second, was penalized for cutting the track and gaining an advantage on the last lap.

In Suzuka, when a heavy crash on the first triggered a two-hour stoppage, and then a shorter race that ran over half the original distance.

Historically a shortened race would mean reduced points, but 75 per cent race distance marked the awarding of full points.
