England won by eight wickets. England lead the five match series 2-1.

England  cruised to a eight wicket victory on Day 3, against Australia in the third Ashes test. Steve Finn takes his career best figures 6-79. Required to make 121, England  completed victory via an unbroken third wicket stand of 73 between Ian bell 65  not out and Joe Root 38 not out. Earlier both Nevill  and Starc were able to complete half centuries, shared a  eight wicket stand of 64. Australia’s last 3 wickets added 97 before they were bowled out 265.

Michael Clark has now lost 10 test matches in England ,the most by an Australian.
