Million visitors attending Notting Hill Carnival, treated to vibrant music, Dance and food
Hundreds of thousands of people attended the Carnival on the opening day of the two day Notting Hill Carnival at West London. Organisers say they are marking the 50th anniversary of one of Europe’s biggest street parties during the 2015 and 2016 events, as there was some confusion when the inaugural carnival was held 1965 or 66, held every August Bank Holiday weekend. Sunday is reserved for children’s carnival day.
Youngsters taking part include Calypso dancers, Soca floats for children’s day , rhythm of the real Caribbean Steel bands, dancing around Great West Road and Ladbroke Grove. Since 1964 Caribbean community have celebrated with variety of live music ranging from Reggae to dub to Salsa, amazing parade, wonderful music, vibrant sound systems and yummy food.
