Lemmy kilmister of Motorhead dies suddenly
His sudden death from cancer at the age of 70 has caused a stir as Lemmy of Motorhead the heavy metal band which spawned such inimitable songs like The Ace of Spades passed away yesterday. Lemmy also sung in the band Metallica and was originally in a fun-style pop band posing as a vicar with the rest of the troupe. The response from the band was to advocate the action of playing his songs as loud as possible to honour his inimitable style playing and singing with the band. The era of the heavy metal band was long before boy bands and embraces and encompasses music which is precious, live and awe inspiring. 22 studio albums were recorded by Motorhead which is US slang for speed freak. Lemmy claimed to have had more than 2,000 conquests during his life and he took so many drugs at times that he was even sacked from one band for these pastimes. It is said he was known as Lemmy for his addiction to fruit and pinball machines and before being rich for asking people to “lemme a fiver”.
Stars such as Alice Cooper and Ozzie Osbourne took to Twitter to tweet their condolences. Ozzy said he would see him on the “other side”.
Sun reporter Tony Parsons referred to Lemmy’s face as being as “gaunt as a fresh corpse”. Lemmy was one of the old troupe of real rockers who lived fast and played live instruments often embracing the dark side or melancholic themes with feisty sounds that made the blood course through your veins a little faster.
