A Valentine Poem
YOU PUT ME IN HEAVEN AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN
A twist of smoke
A tasteful joke
A well-versed smile
Designed to beguile
Shiny leather shoes
That take away the blues
An artful nose
Like one you chose
Full head of hair
Bit of chest laid bare
Eyes full of passion
Clothes all in fashion
You are my man
I can catch you, I can!
Your artful way
That makes my day
A little bit of sway
With you I will lay
We will be together
Whatever and in any weather
You will tell me you adore me
And your words will never bore me
There’s something between us
It’s a magical spark
Let’s cultivate it baby
And when it gets dark
That enigmatic commodity of love
Will make the stars extra bright high above
And the next day
When the sun is rising
I know you will find it extra surprising
When I wake you up
With a mesmerising kiss
Which will mean you
Will start your day in undiscovered bliss
Together we will spend
The splendid morning
Discovering our love has started its dawning
Of each other we will never be tired
We will be loving each other
Long after some couples’ magic has expired
Then with the tweeting of the birds
Will inevitably emerge those three little words
I LOVE YOU
And I know it’s been fast
But it will last
Amen Amen Amen – you put me in heaven again and again and again!!
