De Villiers hit the fastest 150 in ODI history, South Africa became the second team to post over 408 for5 as West Indies lost by 257runs.

De Villiers 162 not out in  66 balls, with eight sixes and 17 fours,  walked out to bat, with South Africa on 146 for 3 in the 30th over, released a variety of shots displaying power hitting, after getting his 50 in 30 balls, he reached the hundred in the next 22 balls and scored further 57  in the next 14 balls.  Rilee Rossouw 61 in 39 balls, who replaced injured JP Duminy, pounded a  31-ball half-century.

Russell should have run him out off his own bowling when De Villiers had 94, as West Indies fell apart, as 261 runs conceded in last 20 overs, 150 in the final 10 overs of the innings.

Holder’s final two overs included six sixes and cost 64 runs returning a bowling figure of 1 for 104 was the most expensive ten-over spell in ICC Cricket World Cups.
