All 12 children and coach rescued from the cave in Thailand
Experts from Kirloskar Brothers Limited, a firm based in Pune, India, gave vital technical support in dewatering operations and pumps to rescue a football team trapped since June 23rd inside Tham Luang, Mae Sai cave system in Thailand.
The KBL offered to provide four specialised high capacity auto prime dewatering pumps which were on standby at Kirloskarvadi plant in Maharashtra to be airlifted to Thailand. All the 12 members aged from 11 to 16 and their coach were rescued from flooded Thai cave after spending 18 harrowing days trapped deep inside.
On June 23, 2018, the search began after 12 members of Wild Boars football team and their coach went missing near a cave in Thailand. Rescue teams found bags, sandals, handprints and footprints 3 km inside the cave. In a couple of days, heavy rain and flooding bring the rescue operations to a halt.
Around 1000 army and navy troops join in search with the specialists from the US, UK China, India and Australia arrive. The operating base setup inside chamber 3 of the cave. Hundreds of oxygen tanks other supplies are pulleyed in. Two British drivers find all 13 on a ledge 4km inside a cave on July 2. Soon after medicine, food, water and blankets are taken to the kids and coach. Former Thai Navy SEAL volunteer dies after his oxygen runs out underwater. Eighteen divers enter the cave and after 11 hours 4boys are rescued on July 8. Next day rescuers re-enter cave, 4 more boys are brought out after nine hours. Finally, on July 10 4 remaining boys and coach was rescued.
