Australia who already holds the Ashes crown trounced England in the T20 Women’s World Cup final.
Alyssa Healy thrashed an imposing 170 from only 138 balls, the highest score in either a Women’s or Men’s World Cup final. Her 160-run partnership with Rachel Haynes enabled Australia to reach 356-5 which is also women’s final bests for any rt3eam against England.
England who was underdogs to defend the title won in 2017 but dropped Healy and in the same over, as dropped catches do not win matches.
Nat Sciver (148 not out ) batted with authority for a century of her own but was in vain as England were bowled out for 285 with spinners Alana King and Jess Jonassen taking three wickets apiece.
England lost their first three games of the tournament as well but managed to reach the final.
Australia has been crowned world champions for the seventh time with nine wins from nine matches.
