ART 16 at Olympia London – concludes 22 May at 5 pm 30+ countries featured
This is the fourth edition of Art16 and brings together over 100 galleries from more than 30 countries across the globe. A programme of curated solo, dual and genre presentations, major installations, artist performances, Not for Profit exhibitors, family activities and talks on the wider perspective of contemporary art is all on the menu.
Shock is one of the elements present in some of the artworks, for example a female artist from Beirut has produced a sinister yet glitzy artwork about terrorism. The skull is becoming iconic again and can be found in quite enticing forms and materials including sculpture as well as paintings.
An installation of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs with moving images is excellent in its eccentricly placed presence in an Art Show. Another installation mirrors the arms of anyone standing closely in front of it making the shape of wings.
If you can’t get to the show, at least enjoy the pictures shown here through The Saturn Herald. If you can get to the show be “re-assured” that extremely famous artists’ work is also featured including Calder, Miro, Piccasso, Chagall and Bacon. There’s always next year if you miss it. Enjoy.
