Adam Zampa’s five wicket haul 5-19, his career best, steered Australia to dismiss Bangladesh for jut 73 and Australia chased the target in 6.2 overs to significantly improve their net run-rate and climb above South Africa into second place in Group 1.
Aaron Finch and to with 3 fours and 4 sixes, and David Warner 18 before Mitchell Marsh pulled for six to win the game with 82 balls to spare.
Mitchell Starc exploited the early swing with the left-arme and Josh Hazelwood both taking two wickets each. Australia took 21 off Mustafizur Rahim to accelerate their chase. Finch and Warner were bowled by Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam. England top Group 1 are still not guaranteed a semi-final spot but it would require a huge defeat against South Africa on Saturday for them not to progress. If South Africa beat England then Australia must beat the already eliminated West Indies to progress to the final four.

Sri Lanka won by 20 runs
Defending champions West Indies have been knocked out of the Men’s T20 World Cup after losing by 20 run to already eliminated Sri Lanka in Abu Dhabi.
Chasing 190n to win, West Indies finished on 169-8 with Shimron Hetmyer top-scoring with 81 not out and his efforts were in vain, thre Sri Lankan bowlers taking two wicket apiece.
Earlier Sri Lanka made 189-3 with Charith Asalanka’s 68 from 41 and Pathum Nissanaka’s 51.
Australia will qualify if they beat West Indies on Saturday but South Africa could progress if they beat Engalnd and overtake Austrlia on net run-rate.
