Bentley to make electric cars
Volkswagen-owned Bentley plans to go fully electric by 2030 and would offer a range of plug-in hybrid or battery electric cars by 2026, as the company aims to be completely carbon neutral across its manufacturing within a decade.
Adrian Hallmark, Bentley’s CEO said “ Within a decade, Bentley will transform from a 100-year-old luxury car company to a new, sustainable, wholly ethical role model for luxury”.
The Luxury car manufacturer is investing billions of Euros into electric car technology, was famous for its enormous 12-cylinder petrol engines, now wants to become one of the car industry’s leaders in environmental sustainability, and makes its “ financially resilient and recession-proof”.
The UK car sales showed the weakest October fell 1.6 per cent to 140, 945 according to SMMT compared to October 19 w2hile electric car sales nearly tripling in 2020 to 76, 000.
