If you live in London and you like shows, do see “Beyond Bollywood”.  The best way to buy your tickets is to visit the Palladium box office, and choose your price and seat with a real live human being!  But don’t delay as the show is not here for too long! Written, choreographed and directed by Rajeev Goswami, original score by Salim/Sulaiman and lyrics by Irfan Siddiqu, the show may have you tearful, fearful and also brimful of admiration and awe and happiness at its mesmerising colourfilled love story and wonderful dance and eye catching  costume induced saga  The popular Italian mag Grazia has gone crazy for it!!.

Shaily Shergill  leaves Munich to fulfil her mother’s dream in India – there’s one tear-jerking twist. Her mother’s ghost features as a white clad emotionally challenging phantom twisting and turning lady who loves her daughter dearly and is watching and communicating with her from another  galaxy.  There is a love interest, a fun filled couple of thoroughly modern dance routines, some down beat characters who only serve to make the lively costume clad dance scenes more fun, and lots of surprises in the storyline.

I can’t spoil it for you by telling you too much about this great presentation of costume, live music,  dance,  colour, drama, romance and downbeat together with upbeat  saga story lines.  See it for yourself and enjoy. The lead male role is highly commendable – beefcake with a good brain and his sidekicks are funny and loveable. Relax and take it in on an unmissable matinee or night out. AND it would not be the same save for the delectable and enchanting costumes of all colour and style imaginable – all power to the wonderful designers and machinists who whizzed up these wizard togs.
