Bieber-Canadian superstar continues to amaze and excite
Justin Bieber is only in his early twenties and has become a rare phenomenon by being a boy who can sometimes be bad but always makes us feel good – all on his own – with zillions of followers! His new album Purpose is totally popular too. On a visit to Amsterdam, he wrote in the memorial AnnFrank’s House book that “hopefully she would have been a belieber”. He is comfortably self-obsessed if nothing else! Recently he has been going around without a T shirt or anything else to cover his “pecs” and finally he was snapped naked in Bora Bora which resulted in a tweet from his proud dad “What do you feed that thing on? proud daddy”. Shows what occupies some male minds? All this sort of tackiness is kind of refreshing n’est ce pas? For his new album he wrote most of the songs himself – as a writer and singer I can understand Justin Beiber as being a true creative with a drive that comes from deep within and cannot be imitated. He might even agree with me that this is partially “god given”. He is the youngest person to have written two hits in the USA top ten – apparently – but don’t quote me on this. Comments about Purpose – the new album is that it is up there with Thriller and Like a Virgin. Bieber is not just another cardboard cut out of other US stars – first he is Canadian, second he is more hands on and more ethereal. Scott Mills, Radio One DJ says Purpose is one of the albums of the year – easy words maybe for a pro. He also says “He has worked with the best producers and songwriters in the world to come up with a sophisticated coming of age album that even the coolest person thinks its OK to enjoy”. Next step readers – go out and buy it? Well at least try and listen to it” One of Beiber’s party tricks – by the way Bieber is a practising Christian – which is a relief for some people who feel pop people are a bit godless at the same time as being godlike – is doing the Rubik’s cube in 2 minutes. He is just 21 and has taken the world by storm. If I met him I know what I would do – well I would start with giving him a big hug – and then as I am a fellow creative…I leave it to your imagination. I’ve written a few songs myself and… I love the dude. Peace. Penny Nair Price
