Two sets of genetic tests including a “mitochondrial” DNA test including testing saliva, has apparently proven links in Prince William and Prince Harry’s connections with both Indian and Albanian ancestry. This goes back to days in the British Raj when a part Indian ancestor – Lady Eliza Newark – housekeeper and 5 greats grandfather Theodore Forbes – a Scottish entrepreneur who worked in Surat for an East Indian Company – a port near Bombay, had a baby daughter who has a maternal line to Princess Diana. Eliza Newark’s father is said to have had Armenian blood.
With the above information therefore made fact by research, Prince William will become the first UK monarch to have proven Indian ancestry. India has a population of over one billion, and Armenia – bordered by Turkey, Azerbaijan and Iran, with a population of just over 3 million, is the first state in the world to adopt Christianity as its official religion.
