Boris Johnson is the new Tory leader and Prime Minister
Boris Johnson beat Jeremy Hunt in a ballot of Conservative party members and will enter 10 Downing Street on Wednesday. Dame Cheryl Gillan, a returning officer for the election, announced the result of the Conservative Party leadership election. Mr Johnson beat Hunt by winning 92, 153 votes to his rival’s 46, 656. Almost 160, 000 Conservative members wereeligible to vote with a turnout of 87.4 per cent.
The Former London Mayor and Foreign minister takes over from Theresa May. The new Conservative leader Boris Johnson says he has three priorities to deliver Brexit, Unite the country and defeat Jeremy Corbyn.
