Cheaper i-Pads boosts Apple sales and growth
Apple posted its third quarter earnings a found a way to restore some of its lost momentum in sales as revenue grew 6 per cent year over year and profit was up 12 per cent over the same period in 2016.
Apple’s IPad sales were up 15 per cent from last year with the sale of cheaper $329 Ipads, while iPhone and Mac sales were both up modestly on a year-over-year basis. But the biggest growth was from Services and other products as it grew over 20 per cent over the same period last year. The App Store, Apple Music and cloud storage all grew dramatically. Hardware like Apple Watch, AirPods and Beats headphones were also in the highlights.
However, in China, Apple growth saw a revenue drop from last year as competition from local phone makers increased.
