Chennai Super Kings Won by eight wickets
Shane Watson struck an unbeaten 117 off 57 balls and helped Chennai Super Kings beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by eight wickets in the Indian Premier League Final.
Although the Australian did not score off his first 10 balls, he hit 11 fours and eight sixes as Super Kings reached the target of 179 with nine balls left.
Kane Williamson, the leading run scorer could only make 47 for Sunrisers Hyderabad. CSK returned to the tournament this season after a two-year ban for their part in a corruption scandal.
Chennai Super Kings beat Sunrisers Hyderabad to win the IPL 2018, their third IPL title, who also won the competition in 2010, 2011 and were runners–up in 2008, 2012, 2013 and 2015. MS Dhoni, the winning captain says that by the time a side reaches the finals, the roles of players are more or less fixed and hence, there is less of talking then.
The IPL is the most lucrative domestic cricket competition in the world after Star India paid £12;97bn for the television rights for five years starting this season.
Sunrisers finished top of the IPL table, although they lost four times to CSK.
IPL 2018, broke over 30 records including KKP opener KL Rahul smashed the fastest ever fifty in IPL history of 14 balls, CSK –RCB match ,in Bengaluru witnessed 33 sixes the most in any IPL match.
This year’s tournament, which started on 7th April, featured a record 12 English players although none appeared in the final.
