Chile struck with 6.8 magnitude earthquake, but no injuries
A 6.8 magnitude earthquake has struck 62 miles southwest of Coquimbo, Chile according to US Geological survey. No injuries reported so far. The quake came after another one measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale.
The quake woke residents of Chilean capital Santiago 186.4 miles, 300km away. Chile has a history of major earth quakes in the past including the strongest ever recorded in the recent history that killed 1655 people and 3000 injured in the 1960s Great Chilean Earthquake.
