Cycle aware jacket warns motorists!
As we all know in London, cycling is a mixed pleasure and is dangerous as well as exciting and economical. We are victim of many stories about fatalities on the London streets of young people losing their lives run over by lorries etc. Despite half the government having been to top schools and universities they still have not even got their act together to advise ALL cyclists to wear a compulsory day glo jacket or to improve their lights front and back. A day glo jacket would get them seen more easily and is it because the police have not got the time to arrest anyone who doesn’t wear one or is it because the government can’t be bothered to issue a warning that they can make things safer by wearing one on a compulsory basis? David Cameron used to go to work on a bike before he moved to Downing Street and Boris Johnson is a keen cyclist. The Saturn Herald urges the government to come forward with proposals to make cyclists more safe on the London streets. Any correspondence about this should be sent to rn@thesaturnherald.com
