Carly Green 24-year-old dance teacher is accused of raping a 15-year-old student, with the youngster spiraling into depression and turning to drink. The unnamed youngster battled mental health issues after Carly Green sexually abused him after he attended her classes in Aston, Pennsylvania. She was arrested and charged last Friday.
Green who began teaching her alleged victim when he was just 10, is said to have begun sexually abusing him in 2018 when he was 15. The age of consent in Pennsylvania is 16. Police were called by the boy’s mother last November after he disclosed Green’s alleged rapes. The mother said she had noticed her son withdrawn, depressed, and began to drink alcohol and even turn to vaping with his grades at school plummeting. The worried mum said her son had previously been a happy and well- adjusted boy who had done well at school.
The police are said to have discovered sexts from Green, as well as naked photos sent by the dance teacher.
Prosecutor Jack Stollsteimer said that the case highlighted the toll sexual abuse can take on underage victims’ mental health, knowing full well both the age of the child and the legal age of consent. The law cannot tolerate this flagrant disregard for the guardrails that we have erected to keep our children safe.
During a police interview, the boy told police Green had abusive sexual intercourse with him at her home. She turned herself to police last Friday and was charged with sexual assault of a child and statutory sexual assault, both felonies. Green’s bond was set at $50, 000 and will appear before a judge on September 25.
