Eddie Izzard star turn in Labour wrangles?
Labour moderates who find Jeremy Corbyn too left wing are hoping to lure Labour supporting comedian Eddie Izzard into standing for the NEC – National Executive Committee this year. This plan follows the resignation of Neale Coleman – Corbyn’s senior adviser last week. In the wake of Coleman’s departure, Karie Murphy is now on board who was in the past reported to the authorities for alleged vote rigging in Falkirk. Though she was cleared, “bad blood” remains. At present the splits in the Labour party have been compared with the Bolsheviks and Mensheviks in Russia. Reports say that Corbyn’s office and party HQ are not communicating or working out strategy for the campaign for elections in May. One of Corbyn’s supporters has said, “The office has had a lot of people come in in a short time and there is a bedding in process, but it is efficient in getting on with the job”.
