Emirates Airbus A380 makes Dubai-NZ longest non-stop flight
Emirates Airbus A380 jet has made history, the world’s longest non-stop scheduled commercial fight from Dubai to Auckland, covering 14,200km (8, 824miles) on March 2, 2016. The return flight to Dubai let at about 19:30 local time 8:30 GMT, reducing the travel time by 3 hours.
Both flights were around 17 hours and 15 minutes. The previous longest flight by Qantas from Dallas to Sydney covering 13, 800km and clocking 16 hours and 55 minutes.
Emirates is also launching a Dubai- Panama City service late in March 2016, that will take 17 hours and 35 minutes. Singapore Airlines used to fly Singapore – New Jersey, which took 19 hours which they are planning to bring back the service in 2018.
