Engine 3 fallen off the plane with 426 passengers landed safely
Mahan Air, an Iranian Boeing 747, with 426 passengers on board, had just departed from Tehran’s Mehrabad Airport, when a piece of engine number three came off and hi the body of the plane and made an emergency landing. The pilot returned to the airport immediately and safely landed the plane just after 7:15am local time on Thursday, 15th October 2015.
According to Iranian journalists the engine part fell into an urban area but no one was injured.
The aircraft had undergone all necessary safety checks prior to departure and affected passengers were taken to their destination, the southern city of Bandar Abbas on a different plane.
Mahan Air operates both domestic and long-distance flights from Tehran to Greece, Turkey and Italy.
